The Reaper Custom Sniper Rifle
This is our newest development and we feel it is going to be a winner. The Reaper stock design is very strong and includes an aluminum bedding block with fore and aft molded in aluminum chassis. The Reaper also has a three way adjustable butt pad and has a well designs adjustable cheek piece. The forend also incorporates a handstop rail as a further refinement. the forend is tapered downward from front to rear, which allows for minute elevation adjustments by sliding forward when using a front sand bag.
The stock is solid fill material and offers good rear weight for yse with heavier barrels. Balance is excellent. The pistol grip is long and short action and can make this system to satisfy urban tactical requirements in a short compact design or adopt other considerations for a long distance configuration. The short magnums can also be employed.
This system is well deserved and must be tried in order to appreciate its superior feel and balance. It is going to be very difficult to beat this one for a long time coming. The barrel has been Teflon finished in matte black with a #7 heavy varmint benchrest contour . Barrel length is 24" without the muzzle brake and 26" with the muzzle brake.
The stock is a McMillan A-4 designed to be everything the tactical or F-Class shooter could want. The barrel has been precision reamed with JGS tooling to minimum match tolerances. The Rangemaster rifle shown is equipped with a fully blueprinted Remington 700 long action with the trigger reworked and adjusted for 2 1/2 pounds of pull. The rifle utilizes a 26" Shilen select stainless steel match grade barrel with a #7 light varmint benchrest contour chambered for 6.5 x 284 Winchester. Barrel length is 28" with the high-efficiency triple baffle muzzle brake. Barrel texture is bead blast natural stainless color with Teflon stainless silver matte finish on the muzzle brake to match. Barrel has been precision chambered using JGS tooling to minimum match tolerances and utilizes the Holland switch barrel competition recoil lug.
This rifle uses the long Remington action to accommodate the very long 6.5 mm or .264 inch diameter bullets needed for long range performance so that powder charge case capacity will not be compromised. Also, longer magazine box length was needed to accommodate long overall cartridge length. This rifle sports a 1 to 8" twist needed for stabilizing long bullets.
The end result is superb long range performance in the 6.5 x 284 cartridge which has now become a standard caliber. This rifle features the McMillan A-3 tactical stock which is a lightweight version of the Series II Rangemaster stock. The weight has been lowered by providing a shallower forend and by utilizing lighter fill material. The stock incorporates an integral adjustable cheek piece and an adjustable spacer system for length of pull. Vertical pistol grip and palm swell are same as Series I & II. Accurately pushing a 55 grain Nosler ballistic tip easily in excess of 4,100 feet per second, this rifle significantly extends the effective range for .22 caliber bullets with devastating effect. This can be thought of as increasing the speed of a 223 Remington by 1,000 additional feet per second. The barrel is a #5 1/2 contour for reduced weight in the field and has been extended to 27 " to efficiently burn the hefty powder charges. Barrel also has a 1 in 12" twist on the rifle shown. This rifle is a single-shot configuration with a Remington 700 short action receiver completely blueprinted and and bolt sleeved utilizing the Shilen select #7HV benchrest barrel Teflon finished at 26 inches with a polished 11degree crown. The action is glass and pillar-bedded with the barrel free-floating.
